Observations in the Night

I should know better than to eat Ben and Jerry's Coffee Heath Bar Crunch ice cream at 11 p.m. on a Sunday night. Sheesh. For the next 5 hours that I lay awake, I learned the following things:

1. Husband snores, snuffles, and makes really strange "deep sleep" breathing noises.
2. When touched, husband will make some responsive movement, even in the deepest sleep.
3. I cannot resist touching, poking, prodding him, just knowing that he will move in response to me.
4. Daughter giggles in her sleep. Can hear her through the baby monitor and it may be the sweetest thing ever.
5. Cannot ever turn brain off. Random thoughts assault my brain, all the time, but especially during caffeinated insomniacal (?) nights.
6. Want close friends in my life.
7. Don't want close friends in my life.
8. Want to change for the better.
9. Want to remain exactly the same, because even though it's worse, it's actually easier.
10. Epiphany at 5 am - Am ready to move forward, need to figure out how.

Any ideas?

  1. Haha! Funny. The exact reason I cannot eat/drink caffeine. It gives me crazy anxiety. No fun! Your breakfast sounds yummy.
